Many have given up on God and His Son, Christ Jesus. Whatever be our reasons, we must persevere without any haste. Psalms 37: 7 says be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!  Neither God nor Christ Jesus has also changed or disappointed any one. Hebrews 13: 8 says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

We opine that we should never give up on God or Christ Jesus. We try to justify our actions from a human perspective without divine knowledge, understanding or wisdom based on our physical and spiritual needs. We read God or Christ Jesus from a human perspective but they are divine. Let the Holy Spirit lead us to examine the reasons why we must not give up on God or Christ Jesus.

God loves us through Christ Jesus

Romans 5: 8 says but God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Also, John 10: 10 I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

God provides for us in Christ Jesus

Philippians 4: 19 says God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. John 15:13 says greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

God is accessible to us through Christ Jesus

John 14: 16-18 say I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you. Also, Matthew 28: 20 says I am with you always, to the close of the age.

God answers our prayers through Christ Jesus

Psalms 145: 18 says the Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth. Jeremiah 29: 12 says then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.

God protects us in Christ Jesus

Joel 2: 32 says and it shall come to pass that all who call upon the name of the LORD shall be delivered. Proverbs 18: 10 says the name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe.

God laid our burdens on Christ Jesus

Matthew 11:28 says, come to me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. John 12:32 he says, and I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.

God alleys our fears though Christ Jesus

Psalms 23: 4 says even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Psalm 91: 1 says he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

God directs us through Christ Jesus

Proverbs 3:5-6 say trust in the Lord always with thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Matthew 7:13-14 says enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

God keeps us in Christ Jesus

John 17: 12, while I was with them, I kept them in thy name, which you have given me; I have guarded them, and none of them is lost but the Son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 10: 28-29 say I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

God shows the way through Christ Jesus

John 14: 6 says I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, but by me. Proverbs 14:12 says there is a way that seems right unto man but the end of it leads to death. John 10:8 says all those who came before me are thieves and robbers.

God shepherds us through Christ Jesus

John 10: 11 says I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Also John 10:14 says I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own knows me. 1 Corinthians 5: 7 says for Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed.

God comforts us through Christ Jesus

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 say blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Ephesians 5: 2 says

and walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

God counsels us through Christ Jesus

John 14: 26 says but the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Also John 15: 26 says but when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me; and you also are witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning.

God will receive us back if we return. James 6: 37 says all that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out. We must be wise in our decisions. Psalms 14:1; 53:1 say the fool says in his heart, there is no God. Psalms 94: 8 says understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise? Psalms 107: 43 says whoever is wise, let him give heed to these things; let men consider the steadfast love of the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit lead us in our return to God and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our Lord and master Jesus, we have followed our own pleasures and wisdom and thereby denied who you are for quick solutions. Today we have known the depth of your love for us. We return to you as prodigal children in repentance. Receive us, cleanse us and save our souls in your name, Amen!!
