Jesus came into the world to save us. He said in Luke 19: 10, for the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. He did so by shedding his precious innocent blood on the cross. Hebrews 9: 12 says he (Jesus) entered once for all into the Holy Place, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.

Why we must be drawn to Jesus’ blood

His blood was to propitiate our sins. Romans 3: 24-25 say… they are now justified by his grace… through Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement by his blood, effective through faith. Without Jesus’ blood there is no forgiveness. Hebrews 9: 22 says indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Jesus’ blood gives us access to his grace. Ephesians 1: 7 says in him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

How are we drawn to the blood?

Our prayer to be drawn to the blood must be sincere. John 4: 24 says God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. We must be bold against the world. Hebrews 4: 16 let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. It must be voluntary. Revelation 3: 20 says, Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me

It must be a personal decision. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2: 2 for I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. It must be irreversible. Jesus said in Luke 9: 62 no one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God. We are drawn to the blood by (a) with a broken heart without delay. Hebrews 3: 15 says today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion. (b) We are drawn to the blood by God’s grace. Ephesians 2: 5 says even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved.

What is Jesus’ blood?

The epitome of the blood is God’s love for us. Romans 5: 8 says but God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. It is by Jesus’ blood that we have a covenant with God for the forgiveness of our sins, Matthew 26: 28. Without the blood, we have no life in us, John 6: 53. In the blood, we have security, John 6: 56. Are we drawn to the blood of Christ Jesus?

Prayer

Our Lord Jesus Christ, our salvation rests in your blood. Please draw us into your blood where we will be cleansed and renewed, restored and forgiven, and will abide in your truth in worship. In your blood, please make us bold to embrace the cross on which you died for us. Let you blood give us eternal life in your holy name, Amen!!
