Whilst some opine that God does not care, others opine our attitude toward God determines the extent of his care. To many others, God cares and fulfills his promises. We assuredly know that God indeed cares about us based on his word. Hebrews 2: 6 says, it has been testified somewhere, “What is man that thou art mindful of him, that thou cares for him? We also know that God cares by Paul’s testimony in Philippians 4: 19, and my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. What is the evidence that God cares in spite of the challenges we face?

God’s word says he cares

The Lord fights against those who neglect his children. He said in Zechariah 10: 3, my anger is hot against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders; for the LORD of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them like his proud war horse.  Jesus affirmed in John 6: 35, whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. Jesus extends an open hand to everyone who is hungry or thirsty for he said in John 6: 37 anyone who comes to me I will never drive away. Paul wrote in Romans 2: 11, for God shows no partiality. Ephesians 6: 9 says with him there is no partiality.

God’s welfare plan shows he cares

God planned our lives before we were conceived to show he cares. God said in Jeremiah 29: 11, for surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm to give you a future with hope. God’s welfare plan is all encompassing. Psalms 18: 30 says this God his way is perfect; the promise of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For our perfection, 2Corinthians 12: 9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” God’s grace shows he cares for Paul said in Philippians 4: 13, I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Bible testimonies show he cares

David said in Psalms 55: 22, cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. David’s testimony is based on his proven encounters with the Lord. Isaiah affirmed this fact in Isaiah 40: 31, those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Based on Peter’s association with Christ Jesus, he also affirmed in 1Peter 5: 7, cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. God assumes full responsibility and gives rest to our souls when we cast our burdens on him.

Jesus’ love shows God cares

God shows his care through the cross. He said in Luke 10: 19, see, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. Jesus authority to us is spiritually comprehensive for his work, trust and faith. He cares for our souls for he said in Matthew 12: 21 and in his name the Gentiles will hope. By his care, he has made us children of God. John 1: 12 says but to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God. God is always our companion for he said in Hebrews 13:5, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Jesus said in Matthew 28: 20, “I am with you always, to the end of the age.

The bible has revealed God’s approved ways to the world by which we can enjoy his infinite care. The ways include as follows:

We must be faithful to Jesus

We must confess and believe that Jesus died for us and all generations. Romans 10: 9 says, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Our confession should come from the heart with gratitude. Jesus said in Luke 16: 10, “Whoever is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much; and whoever is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much. When we show gratitude over little, he will care for us in a bigger way.

We should walk in his ways

Psalms 1: 1-2 say, blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. We must be wise and careful of our relationship with Jesus. Ephesians 5: 15 says look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise. Careful walk with Jesus is espoused in Titus 3: 8, those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men. John 15: 7 says, if you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. A worthy relationship with Jesus matters.

We should approach Jesus

Jesus expects us to approach him with our burdens voluntarily. 1Peter 5: 7 says, cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you. If we deride Jesus, we cannot approach him with confidence and honesty. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29 come to me all who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Jesus said in John 14: 13, whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. We must always call on Jesus for Acts 2: 21 says, and it shall be that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. This is irrespective of our circumstances.

God truly cares for everyone

God is not partial but treats everyone equally. Peter said in Acts 10: 34-35, “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. God cares for you and me through Christ Jesus. He said in Matthew 28: 20, I am with you always, to the end of the age. He always walks beside us and watches over us. He cares for us as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, Luke 13: 34; Matthew 23: 37. Trust in God for he cares with an unfailing love.

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, we appreciate your unfailing care always even in circumstances which we do not know. We are gratified for your care even before we were formed in the womb to date. May we be honest with our gratitude and by that remain faithful over what you have entrusted to us. Give us the wisdom to depend on your care and to seek your face at all times. We pray in your holy name, Amen!!

Send us your prayer request so we may join you in prayer
