In Genesis 1:2-3, it is written that, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light”. In Genesis 2:7 we read further that, “then the LORD God formed man of the dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being”.

Our roots

A thing that is “without form” means a thing in a state of chaos; confusion; disorder; anarchy; or  without defined structure. A state of “void” connotes vacuum; the absence of required direction, control or management; or synchronization. State of “Darkness” means the absence of light; vision; bearings; security; or knowledge. “Deep” refers to an endless state of indescribable dark abyss. This was the state of the world at inception of creation from which man was formed.

Our DNA

We therefore naturally have a DNA  from that root, comprising of insensitivity, confusion and darkness also known as a state of sin, in summary. In Psalms 51:5 the writer says: “Behold. I was brought forth in inequity, and in sin did my mother conceive me”. In effect the Psalmist is attributing his life of inadequacy or insufficiency to his natural spiritual DNA which he traces to an uncontrollable and notorious genes that he inherited by birth, the remedy of which is beyond him.

Our lives reflect the same weaknesses because we share a common or identical DNA. We are prone to unstructured life of chaos. We gravitate towards darkness, insensitivity and recklessness. We subscribe to sin or darkness because of our historical or ancestral relationship. Romans 3:22-25 confirms our state without any equivocation that: “For there is no distinction; since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith.

God’s DNA

Upon realizing his chaotic life, and his inability to redeem himself, the Psalmist turned to God for divine intervention. God by speaking His light at creation and breathing into us gave to man His DNA in exchangeupon our accepting Him. God’s DNA is the light which ended the chaos. It was for our salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is eternal and available to us for our propitiation. It is not too late to identify with God’s DNA. It is free and guarantees eternity through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Do not procrastinate to accept God’s invitation to you to change and adopt His DNA. It is better to be late in changing your DNA now than never. Join us to appreciate God for His gift of light through the redemptive grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Make a decision today either for eternity in Heaven or for torment in Hell fire? Whose DNA do you have or pride in?

Our root of eternal inheritance is predicated on our DNA. Colossians 1:12 says, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who had delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us unto the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

We read further in Colossians 3:24 that“Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Hebrews 9:15 says, “And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressors that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, may you command my life to be without reproach. I dedicate my life to your will and service. Help me to adopt your DNA so I shall be true and pure in my walk with you. Take more of me and give me more of you. In your Holy name I pray. AMEN.!!!
