Biblical account
Biblical account in Genesis 1:1: tells us that “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” This verse tells us that all beginnings are and must be with God. It must therefore be our foremost desire that all beginnings of ours, irrespective of whatever we are engaged in shall begin with the creator of all things, God the Father and His only begotten son, Jesus Christ or Lord and Saviour.
Divine wisdom
We need divine wisdom in order to appreciate this verse of God. In Job 12:12-13 “Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days. With God are wisdom and might, he has counsel and understanding”. This passage confirms to us that except with wisdom concerning that which is ordained by God through his word, man cannot understand creation and simple things of God. This also explains why we pride ourselves in our perceived achievements.
Wealth without wisdom
From his point of knowledge, Solomon described our purported achievements or wealth that we so much crave for in this world and adore in Ecclesiastics 1:2 as “Vanity of vanities. All is vanity”. In verse 14 it reads, “I have seen everything that is done under the sun; and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind”. In effect Solomon is admonishing us that material wealth has no value before God and cannot stand the test of time except with His involvement. Mark 13:31 says: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away”. (Also Luke 21:33).
Man’s creation
Unfortunately, man does not create and has never created anything throughout the ages. Man has only discovered what the Father in heaven has already created upon relying on God’s wisdom. No one except God the Father and His only begotten son, Jesus Christ or Lord and Saviour know and have the manual of creation or permanent achievement.
Relevance of God
Without God’s involvement through our Lord Jesus Christ as the foundation of our individual or collective strides, our efforts irrespective of the time and what we have garnered or built over the years shall disperse. Foundation without Christ connotes failure to acknowledge Him and that is a sin to the extent that it rivals God. Exodus 20:5 says: “For I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon he children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me. To whom do you boast and ascribe the foundation of your success? Psalms 20:7 says: “Some boast of chariots and some of horses; but we boast of the name of the LORD our God.
Prayer
Dear Lord, as we quiver and crave for worldly treasures give us wisdom and fortitude to recognize that you are the foundation of all things on which our lives depend. You remain the head of the corner stone in our lives. Teach us humility to ascribe all thanks and glory to your Holy name. Thank you Father for answered prayer in blessed name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. AMEN!! SHALOM!!!
