The true identity of Christ Jesus still eludes carnal minds. Hebrews 1: 2 says in these last days he (God) has spoken to us by a Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. Simply, Jesus is the heir of God by whom the world was created. John 1: 2 says he was in the beginning with God. He was the word at creation, John 1: 1. So, who is this Jesus?

The Jesus who lived without sin

Although he was born a human being, he had no sin because he was God incarnate. Hebrews 4: 15 says… we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin.  He therefore did not inherit the sin of Adam which makes us die to face judgment. In reality, Jesus was rather spiritually born of God and not humankind hence he was born through the Virgin Mary.

The angels said to Mary in Luke 1: 35 the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God. Paul wrote in Colossians 1: 15 he is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. He was born holy and remained holy without sin hence he wants us to also be holy by his grace in him

The Jesus who is our final intercessor

The bible says in 1 John 2: 1-2 but if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. Paul also wrote in Romans 8: 34… it is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us

Jesus aids us in prayer by his Spirit. Romans 8: 26-27 say… the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.  And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the Saints according to the will of God.  Even in the emptiness of our prayers, he allows his Holy Spirit to intercede for us so our prayers may be acceptable in God’s sight.

The Jesus who is our final advocate

John the disciple wrote in 1 John 2: 1 my children, I am writing this to you so that you may not sin; but if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but for the sins of the whole world.

Jesus said in John 14: 16, I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. He said in John 14: 26 but the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. Jesus continues to speak for us either by himself or by his Holy Spirit.

The Jesus who is our final judge

Jesus will be our judge on the final day. John 12: 48 says the one who rejects me and does not receive my word has a judge; on the last day the word that I have spoken will serve as judge. The disciples said in Acts 10: 42, he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as a judge of the living and the dead.

Speaking of God, Acts 17: 31 says he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him (Jesus) from the dead. Paul wrote in Romans 2: 16… God, through Jesus Christ, will judge the secret thoughts of all. Jesus talking of his judgment said in Luke 18: 7, and will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay in helping them? Let us make friends with the judge before it gets too late.

Jesus is the great provider

We obey Jesus when he takes residence in our hearts and when we obey him. Jesus said in Revelation 3: 20, I am standing at the door, knocking, if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me

He is a reliable friend.  Jesus affirmed in Philippians 4: 19 says and my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. He gives eternal life to those who believe in him. Jesus said in Matthew 11: 28 come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. There is no greater joy than the rest in the arms of Christ Jesus in God. Will we rest in eternity?

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, please let your grace avail us with eternal life as we desire to wash our robes in your blood as the Saints of old have done. We thank you Lord Jesus for being our intercessor and advocate out of your unfailing love. Judge us by your mercy through your grace so we may stand strong even in our weakness for the sake of the cross and your blood. Thank you for an answered prayer, Amen!!
